Award winning former chef opening a CSA in spring 2016 on a historic farm in Bucks County. Over 100 varieties of vegetables will be featured over a 26 week season offered for the reasonable rate of $600 for a full share and $400 for a half share. Members will receive a cookbook which explains the preparation of all varieties of vegetables and recipes to cook them. Joel farms biodynamically, using with no pesticides of any kind, no synthetic fertilizers, no GMO seeds, enriching the soil with compost, leaf mulch, alfalfa meal and seaweed extract to improve the soil. Native hedgerows are being used to help attract beneficial insects, and birds.
The farming practices of Stonehouse Market Garden were originally necessitated by the fact that the family has two sons with autism who are allergic to many different things. Good, wholesome, cleanly grown food strengthened their immune systems making us keenly aware of the value of providing good food to other area families.
