Five Sprouts Farm is dedicated to family, good food, and sustainability. We dreamed for years about starting our own farm, and have finally made it happen. With our five young children working alongside us, we aim to produce healthy, local food in a sustainable way. We are not certified organic, but use only methods and materials that will preserve and heal the land. We are pesticide free and incorporate permaculture and biointensive principles into our farming. As we grow, we look forward to expanding our offerings to include a variety of fruits, animal products (including eggs, fiber, honey, and meat), and value-added products including jams, jellies, soap, dried foods, salsa, sauces, and baked goods. Our goal is for our family to live sustainably while providing healthy food for the community. We want our farm to be a gathering place, where people feel comfortable coming to learn about living in a way that minimizes their environmental footprint, and a place where they can meet friends and feel a part of a larger community. We strive to use sustainable practices in all that we do, from using open-pollinated seed to using bikes as transportation, from using water conservation principles to finding local and on-farm resources for what we need. As we grow, we hope to use chickens, turkeys, and sheep to manage our land, and preserve the wetlands that are part of our farm. We would love to have you come out to visit and look forward to seeing you at local farmer's markets this year! Look for our CSA to start in 2013.
