Growing food is a passion. It strengthens the connections we have with the natural world, with our community and gives us a livelihood. Food is a focal point for social justice. If we are denied our human right to decide what foods to eat and confined to narrow ways of acquiring it, we also loose an essential part of our humanity. We've always been drawn to issues of social justice and environmental justice (which are really one and the same). Erik spent five years working for or directly with an Appleton, WI area non profits and Kate a few years. We have experienced first hand the challenges people have in accessing good food. Our local agencies and government alone are not enough to fill the gaps. The world needs growers of good food!
