Little River Cooperative

We are a small urban farm in Miami FL, owned and operated by Muriel Olivares and Tiffany Noe. We farm on a 3 acre plot of land where we cultivate just under 1 acre. The veggies and herbs we grow supply our own CSA, one farmers market booth and a growing list of local restaurants. We have our nursery on a separate piece of land where we grow season specific organic seedlings and offer a selection of edible annuals and perennials at the farmers market, at pop up plant sales around Miami and also for larger custom orders and garden maintenance and installation services. Our CSA members benefit from the intimate relationship they develop with the farm in many ways. We include alternative tropical crops that aren't for sale in the grocery store so our members get to try and learn about new veg; since we are an urban farm our members have easy access to visit the farm to see where their food is being grown and volunteer. CSA shares come with recipes and suggestions for delicious ways to experience those fruits and veggies you may not have experience with and both farmers are present at the CSA pick up every week for Q&A and general farm chat. This season we are offering two share sizes to meet the demands of your household. We also have two pick up locations to make sure you can conveniently pick up your weekly shares. We love the Upper East Side Farmers Market, and many of our loyal members do too, so we will be offering pick ups on Saturdays from 10am-2pm at Legion Park located at Biscayne blvd and 66th street . We will also be offering CSA pick ups on Saturdays from 11am-4pm in Coconut Grove at a friends house. We believe a healthy living soil is the key to growing nutritious vegetables so we focus on composting, cover-cropping and low tillage to sustain the micro-organisms and organic matter in our fields. Although we aren't certified organic our methods of farming are beyond organic. We grow about 25 different varieties of vegetables and some fruits and herbs, all of which you can enjoy as they come into season. This season we will also be sourcing produce from other local urban farms as a way of extending our season and offering a more varied selection of produce. We are excited about sharing information and produce from those farms on our blog and in the shares!
