Kahumana Cafe and Organic Farm
Aloha! E komo mai, kama 'aina and friends!
Our mission at Kahumana is to co-create a healthy, inclusive and productive farm-based community with homeless families, people with disabilities and youth. We accomplish this through maka'ala (mindfulness), aloha (empathy) and lokahi (working together).
On our organic farm, we provide farm tours, a weekly CSA program, accept volunteers and offer internships. We also offer donation-based yoga classes throughout the week.
Kahumana Community is a multi-faceted non-profit with several programs:
Kahumana Organic Farm
Kahumana Cafe- Farm-to-table lunch and dinners, open Tuesday-Saturday.
Kahumana Retreat & Learning Center- Bed & Breakfast, Farm- and yoga-stays, School programs and weekly lectures all located on-site.
Hale Lana o Kahumana- Day program for adults with developmental disabilities, located on-site.
Ohana Ola o Kahumana- Transitional housing for the homeless.
Ulu Ke Kukui- Commercial kitchen providing 5,000 meals each week to 35 schools on Oahu, and also transitional housing for the homeless.
Kahumana Organic Farm has been organic since its beginnings in 1977. We have been previously certified organic and biodynamic, however our efforts have been focused on expanding our social missions to end homelessness on O'ahu, feed and educate youth, and provide an inclusive space for adults with developmental disabilities, our certifications have expired. We are currently working to get re-certified.
