GreenSpace Microgreens

GreenSpace offers fresh grown certified organic microgreens. GreenSpace is proud to offer the highest quality produce by using all certified organic, non-GMO seeds, organic nutrients and specially blended soil mixes. We are an initiative of Blue Marble Space and work as a non-profit company. Our 1500 square foot indoor grow house, located in Hesston, PA uses LED and compact fluorescent lighting. All year round our all certified organic, Non-GMO microgreens are grown in organic soil and coco coir with organic nutrients. We introduced Greenspace to farm markets in March 2015 and began commercial orders in Sept 2015. Currently we provide microgreens at a number of local farm markets, restaurants, health food stores, online stores, and home subscription customers spanning from Washington D.C. to right here in central Pennsylvania. We select cut at peak ripeness to ensure the highest quality and most flavorful microgreens all year around. Our microgreens are available through CSA and for retail or personal accounts. We accept cash, check, credit card, debit card and SNAP cards. Microgreens are a tiny vegetable or herb used for both visual and as a flavor component ingredient in progressive fine dining and health minded people and restaurants. Smaller than a baby green and harvested at about two weeks old, they provide a variety of flavors and are jam packed with nutrients! Early research suggests they may contain as much as five times the nutrient and carotenoid levels than their mature vegetable counterparts. Microgreens are commonly used in soups, salads, sandwiches, pizza, omelets, garnishes, cocktails, smoothies and more. Some people often enjoy them simply as a healthy snack. We offer one day workshops teaching the correct methods on growing your own fresh microgreens. We provide all the instructions and materials and we offer a hands-on approach to the many different methods of growing fresh greens. Topics include seed germination, amount of seeds per tray, planting techniques, watering methods, adding the right amount of nutrients, harvesting, storage and lighting requirements for 8 unique varieties of microgreens. You take home all your freshly seeded trays plus the necessary items to continue growing all year around. For future projects, we offer all organic, non-GMO microgreen seeds, specially blended soils, grow trays, grow mats and lighting kits for very reasonable prices. We strive to reduce, reuse, and recycle as much as possible so that nothing goes to waste! We recycle used grow containers under low watt energy efficient LED lighting. We use compostable, sugar based produce bags and storage containers. Corn-based shipping liners inside of recycled cardboard boxes. Even our shipping tape is made from bio-degradable materials.
