About the farmers: We are cooks. We care deeply about good food, and want to provide CSA members with the best, most nutritious, most life-giving vegetables we can possibly grow. We founded Ten Mothers Farm in 2015 after years of apprenticing on farms in California, Maine, and here in North Carolina. Our CSA shares are fully customizable -- you can swap items in and out to make sure you get the vegetables you want. Each week, we send our CSA members a newsletter full of cooking inspiration, recipes, and news from our farm and kitchen.
Our practices: We are "uncertified organic," no-till, use prodigious amounts of compost, plant native species to protect pollinators, never use toxic sprays or GMOs, and all of us farmers earn a living wage. Since we spend pretty much all our free time cooking, we grow vegetable varieties that are known for great flavor. When harvesting for CSA members, we always prioritize taste, freshness, and nutrition. We want you and your family to eat well.
