Waterpenny Farm is a 6-acre vegetable farm in Rappahannock County, Virginia. Since our first growing season in 2000, we've been committed to running our farm in harmony with the environment, using sustainable farming methods, with all organic inputs and no chemical pesticides or fertilizers. We produce healthful, pesticide-free vegetables and flowers for farmers markets, a 60-member CSA subscription program and local on-farm customers. CSA shares only available for pickup on our farm on Thursdays.

Waterpennies are beetle larvae that can only live in clean water. Their presence in a stream indicates that the water is healthy. Our farm is named for the waterpennies we find in the river that borders our farm. We farm in a sustainable way, using all organic practices, like cover cropping, minimal tillage, plantings for beneficial insects, and water conservation, and use no pesticides in our fields. We hope this allows the waterpennies, and therefore our local ecosystem, to thrive.
