Hello! We would like to welcome you to our profile by introducing ourselves. We live in the Ozark Mountains of Northern Arkansas, 2 miles from Bull Shoals Lake. We are newly formed The Cozy Homestead. Multi-Family Homestead, meaning 2 household homestead. The household consists of Leisha(my Mom), John(Her Live In Partner of 7years) and Ali(me). Leisha and John are both disabled, though they do work along side me everyday. i am a fiber artist, meaning I turn raw fiber, humanely gathered from fiber animals(angora goat, alpacas, sheep, angora bunnies, camels, yaks, ect), into Hand Spun Yarn.. All 3 of us, wish to create a better living environment on the land, with goals of self-sustainability. Our Motto is Creating a Better World on 3 Acres. A little information about our homestead.. We do raise animals for meat, eggs, ect. We have about 20 rabbits, 25 ducks, 20 chickens, 1 pig, 1 angora goat, plus 9 Alpacas and Dairy Sheep coming soon. We are still in the building and planning stages. We do accept volunteers, students, wwoofers, and work-campers. We have our projects laid out into categories, to help us stay on track. We really need some help with: finishing the cross fencing, getting raised beds built, mass canning of fruit butters/jellies and baking large quantities of Artisan Bread for the farmers markets, getting more Crafts ready for Farmers Markets, get area ready for fall Planting of Berry Bushes (blue, rasp, black), building more living spaces, building a milking barn and someone who is interested in an apprenticeship to learn all about Fiber Arts. I know there is alot more projects happening but this gives you an idea. We have 2 websites, 1 for the homestead and 1 for the fiber arts. If you have questions please feel free to send us an email.
