Our farm was started by Howard McGinnis in 1968 and he is currently mentoring his daughter Sandi and grandaughter Sara to pass on the many hard learned lessons he has aquired on this 14 acre farm. Originally farming mostly zuchinni, tomatoes and beans for shipping to wholesalers, the farm converted to a farmers market direct to consumer farm in 1990. Adding diversified vegetables, berries and flowers. Once Sandi & Sara started working the land it was transitioned once again to strictly organic, currently certified by CCOF. We were awarded the Healthy Soils Grant in 2017 by CDFA and put into place a crop rotation, cover crop plan and woody hedgerow along with composting heavily to regenerate the soil. We now grow about 60 different crops, and are well known at our markets for our carrots. Our soil is very sandy and we can grow the best carrots year round. We now grow 5 different varieties of carrots in a rainbow of colors. We also grow many heirloom pumpkins, winter squash, herbs, many seasonal flower varieties, lettuce, beets, beans, strawberries and blackberries. You can find us at Ferry Plaza Market & Alemany Blvd Farmers Markets on Saturdays, and at the Menlo Park Farmers Market on Crane Street on Sundays. We also have a farm stand at the farm on Firdays 10am-2pm.
