Middle Way Farm, LLC, is a market garden located just north of Grinnell, Iowa, on the Lacina family farm. We employ low tech, high yield techniques to produce great tasting food for direct sale to local customers and create a system of production that is sustainable for the farmers, the community, and the environment. We rely on biological processes that are renewable, build soil, and enhance ecological health. We believe in growing better, not bigger. Our two acre size is intentionally small so that we can focus on caring for the land, product quality, serving customers, and working smarter, not harder, while enjoying a good quality of life.
Started in November 2012 by Jordan Scheibel, Middle Way Farm offers chemical-free (transitioning to certified organic in 2016) vegetables, fruits, fresh herbs, flowers, and plant starts for sale seasonally from May through December, with some storage crops available during the winter months. Our products are marketed directly to customers through Community Supported Agriculture shares, farmers markets, online buying clubs and cooperatives, restaurants, and through special events and bulk orders. We also offer public on-farm events and educational workshops throughout the year.

From North (Hwy 146):
Off of Route 30 near Marshalltown, take Hwy 146 south towards Grinnell. Drive about 20 miles, passing through the town of Gilman and going around a big curve. As you begin to approach Grinnell from the north, the road will briefly narrow as you pass under a railroad bridge. The farm will be the next group of buildings on your left, approximately a half mile from the railroad bridge. There are two driveways - pull into the second driveway. Head straight towards the blue barn, where you will see the "Middle Way Farm" sign. Parking is to the west of the barn or north of the barn past the farm sign.
From South (I-80):
Take Exit 182 for Grinnell. Turn onto Hwy 146 north towards Grinnell (From I-80 West, turn right. From I-80 East, turn left). You will go all the way through Grinnell, passing through a number of stoplights and the intersection with Route 6. After leaving downtown, you will drive about mile to the edge of town (16th Ave). After leaving town, you will drive about 2/3 mile north. The farm is the second farmstead on the right side (look for the blue barn). Head straight towards the blue barn, where you will see the "Middle Way Farm" sign. Parking is to the west of the barn or north of the barn past the farm sign.
