Little Wagon Produce

Little Wagon Produce has grown tremendously since our first year in 1989! Many of our original customers can remember the beginning years when we had only one covered wagon and a green, metal money box in which customers paid for their produce on the "honor system". Wow, what a way to operate a business--the family picked the produce while the customers helped themselves! We soon grew into two covered wagons, a demand for more produce and a need for more parking! We also needed a name and a sign! Our customers were always referring to us as "the little wagons". The name stuck and the family decided it was time to give it the official name, "Little Wagon Produce".

Today, Little Wagon Produce has kept the tradition of the 2 covered wagons but also added a pole building, covered awning, greenhouse, and cooler. The business is family owned and operated by Dan Vanderwende, whom many of the employees refer to as "Farmer Dan". It is also run by his wife, Becky, and his son, Breck along with other family members and many seasonal employees. We open in the spring offering a large selection of annual and perennial flowers. We grow and sell summer produce beginning the first weekend in May. Please see our extensive list in the products section. We also remain open in the fall and offer a large selection of pumpkins, fall squash, mums, and a large variety of jams & jellies which are available all season. Of course, as many of you know, "Farmer Dan's" specialty is the super sweet corn which we offer from early July until late October and is picked fresh every day.
