Reviving An Old Homestead Orchard and Creating a Meaningful Way of Life
Very little has survived from the original 100 year old homestead that is now Mountain Roots Orchard. We have literally started from the ground up trying to get back to our roots and recreate a place that provides for us and benefits our community. Yearly, we add to the orchard with new fruit trees created from grafts of the existing heritage apple and pear trees, as well as, berries (blueberries, raspberries, gooseberries). Our small farm and orchard is open to the public every June-October with our store where we offer fresh produce, garden starts, gifts, and our own Wild Mountain Berries huckleberry products of Jams, Syrups, Pie Fillings, Vinegar, BBQ Sauce, Mustard, and Honey.
