New Lands Farm is a refugee and immigrant farmer collective located on one of the last remaining farms in West Springfield. The collective farmers have rich cultural backgrounds rooted in subsistence farming and come from places like the Congo, Burundi, and Bhutan. They grow familiar New England produce as well as a variety of ethnic crops, including mchicha (callaloo), bitter melons, and African eggplants. The farmers sell their unique produce at farmers markets and to small local grocery stores and restaurants.
