Located in Amagansett, New York, Quail Hill Farm is one of the nation's first Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) farms. Situated on land generously donated to the Peconic Land Trust by Deborah Ann Light, the farm was established in 1990 and has since expanded to 30 acres, serving more than 250 families each season.
Quail Hill Farm provides fresh produce to local restaurants and donates food to area pantries throughout the growing season. Through regenerative organic farming practices, the farm prioritizes soil health, creating thriving growing conditions that support both healthy crops and a sustainable farming community.
From June through October, more than 250 summer-share families visit the farm twice weekly to harvest from fields containing over 350 varieties of vegetables, fruits, and flowers. During the winter months, more than 50 families participate in a winter share program, receiving box shares of root vegetables, leafy greens, culinary herbs, alliums, and greenhouse-grown greens from November through February. Organic eggs are also available year-round, while supplies last.
Education remains central to Quail Hill Farm's mission. The farm offers an Advanced Apprenticeship program and welcomes school groups fostering a deeper connection to the land. By engaging the community in agriculture, Quail Hill Farm helps cultivate long-term stewardship of Long Island's unique agricultural and natural resources.
Founded in 1983, the Peconic Land Trust works to conserve Long Island's farms, natural landscapes, and cultural heritage for present and future generations.
