Westwind Farm is a working and educational farm using organic practices located between Swartz Creek and Durand, Michigan. The 2020 season will be our 4th year as operators of a very cool CSA! In addition to seasonal veggies and eggs, our stone grinding flour mill enables us to provide staples, such as flour, baking mixes and bread for shareholders. We brought the Mill back to our Farm from our former business in a historic Mill in Argentine. It grinds 7 types of flour from certified organic Michigan grown grain, including bread, pastry, all purpose, spelt, buckwheat, rye, and corn meal.
Independently of the CSA, people can also purchase flour, vegetables, eggs, etc., as well. Farm pick up hours are Fridays 4-7pm (til 8 pm during summer months) and Saturdays 10-3. To be sure we have what you're looking for, it's best to call first. We also have wholesale sales of flour and baking mixes. Please contact us for wholesale pricing.
Lastly, we hold ecological & sustainable living classes and events - gardening, food preservation, bread baking, and more. During the off season, classes/events are held either in the Mill's commercial kitchen, outdoors for summer events, or indoors at the Westwind Farm House in the winter or with inclement weather.
