Paradise Farms, established in 2012, is one component of KISRA's Growing Jobs Project. The Growing Jobs Project is a fresh, new way in which KISRA is making a positive difference in our community. It's a farm-to-table program that, in addition to job creation, is encouraging entrepreneurship, and giving people access to fresh, locally grown produce for a healthier lifestyle. Through KISRA's Paradise Farms, vulnerable fathers and mothers receive training and employment opportunities while communities gain access to local, fresh and healthy food.
We're a model for urban farms operating on land with questionable land-use history -- we grow everything in raised beds, or hydroponically. We never use any GMOs, and we practice integrated pest management instead of spraying.
We grow a variety of leafy greens, root veggies, and herbs. If you catch us at the right time, you might even be able to get your hands on some of our peppers, tomatoes, cucumbers, or squash!
Lettuce, spinach, kale, collards, chard, mustard greens, beets, rainbow carrots, easter egg radishes, turnips, basil, and more!
