We are a family run eco-conscious, self sustaining farm that are focused on organic permaculture homesteading designs. We have purchased and will be using solar and wind energy to power our main community house. We have water barrels and containers for our water collection system. All of our crops are fertilized using compost from the kitchen and from manure from our grass fed/non GMO grain fed rabbits, chickens, pigs, cows and horses. Why non GMO? Genetically Modified Organism - this is unnatural manipulation of plants using unsafe and unnatural processes and chemicals. Multiple studies have shown ingesting GMO food causes cancer, tumors, infertility and decreased lifespan. Just because it's grown organic, doesn't mean it isn't a GMO plant. If we won't eat it, we won't feed it to our animals. Our goal is become self sustaining as eco friendly and natural as possible and to inspire others in learning new techniques for surviving and thriving in ways that are in harmony with Mother Nature. We reuse and repurpose as many things as possible on the farm. Our seedling house is completely made with salvaged used materials. We grow a lot of our own seasoning herbs, use our cows & goats milk for drinking, soap, cheeses, yogurt and ice cream. We are propagating native edible plants from the property in our crops as well. We try to use and cultivate what we resources we have and reuse salvaged materials as much as possible. We are always on the look out for ways to use salvageable materials other than their original purpose to see if it will work with our farm and make it more efficient.
