Oakland University Student Organic Farm

Family Farm
The Oakland University Campus Student Organic Farm is an educational farm which offers classes in organic farming and permaculture. We raise over 35 different kinds of field- and hoophouse-grown vegetables, with many varieties of most vegetables, including heirlooms and some of our own local varieties from saved seeds. Produce is distributed through a student-operated campus farmstand, a CSA Farm Share, and donations to charitable organizations. Undergraduate students operate the farm, farmstand, and CSA for credit and/or as paid positions of leadership. Internships are available. The Department of Biological Sciences offers a minor in Urban Agriculture and Agroecology, which includes hands-on training in 4-season mixed vegetable farming. Volunteers are welcome.
