Round River is a small organic farm that operates as a CSA (community supported agriculture) enterprise. Located in the midlands of South Carolina, the farm includes stands of hardwoods to promote the biodiversity of the area, including insect-eating birds and bats. The farm also includes pasture for our draft horses, who supply an abundance of compost for the garden. Further, it is our intent to use draft horse power as much as possible. We produce a wide variety of vegetables and herbs. We sell shares of our annual produce contractually, to one time buyers, and any arrangement in between. Our harvest season runs for approximately 20-24 weeks, starting in May. We offer a summer internship and student interns provide some of the labor. We are always looking for more dedicated young minds interested in sustainable agriculture. Shares come in two different sizes, full and half. Full shares include a minimum average of 5 pounds of fresh produce per week (can be up to 15 lbs), delivered to a pick-up location in Columbia or Lexington, SC, or available directly from the farm. Half shares include a minimum average of 2.5 pounds per week (can be up to 10 lbs). The selection of produce will vary throughout the harvest season. Any and all shareholders are invited to visit the farm and participate in this community endeavor any time! We have special pricing for shareholders committed to helping us during the harvest season. We strongly encourage community participation and education. Please visit our website (www.roundriverfarms.com) for more information and to join us in providing healthy food in a sustainable way. Do not hesitate to drop us a line if you have any questions, and please come and visit us!
