We began selling a few extra vegetables at our local farmers market 8 years ago. We continue to expand our gardens to offer more fresh produce, and this year we are opening a Farm Stand in our front yard. We will be offering pre-orders of produce for pick up at our farm during the week, or on Saturday mornings at the Iron County Farmers Market in Hurley. There will be monthly free incentives for purchasing weekly from our farm.
We typically have fresh salad greens, radishes, cucumbers, and snap peas available by mid-June. Check our our full listing of vegetables available. We sell all summer and through the fall. We offer jam made with locally grown fruits, mainly berries. We are expanding our strawberry patch this season. We also offer a variety of pickles, beets, and dilly beans, all grown in our gardens and canned in my home kitchen, along with home baked breads, muffins, cookies, and more.
Our specialty crops include sweet corn, and we usually have it available for about 4 weeks, beginning in early August.
Our pumpkin patch includes pumpkins for pies and jack-o-lanterns, and our white pumpkins that are popular for weddings. Families love coming out to our place to pick out their Halloween decorations, including gourds and corn stalks.
We will offer our handmade items and fresh cut flowers only at our Farm Stand this year, due to limitations at the local farmers market. They include crochet washcloths, cold-processed soaps, fleece blankets, pets items, bandana scarfs, Covid-19 Masks, mug rugs, hot pads, and I crochet the tops of flip-flops, making them comfy for those long summer days in the north woods. Bob has some beautiful child size picnic tables in cedar and white ash available. We will also feature some local art by our friend Kitty!
