Green Heron Growers is an organic farm and event center nestled in the rolling hills of Chautauqua County, NY. We specialize in 100% grass-fed heritage Red Devon beef, organic chicken, pork (free of GMO's & MSG), certified organic vegetables, & shiitake mushrooms. Our focus is on regenerative practices, raising our animals with loving care and supporting biodiversity in the soils, pastures and forests. We are certified organic by NOFA-NY, LLC for mushrooms, chicken, pastures & vegetables. No hormones, antibiotics, herbicides, GMOs or pesticides are ever used.

Our Farm Store on site is self-serve and well stocked of frozen beef, pork and chicken, plus seasonal offerings of mushrooms, veggies, soups, shiitake finishing butter, broths and other value added items. Our 100% grass-fed beef is available in individual cuts from our freezers, or in bulk (whole, half, quarter, and assorted boxes).

We share our passion for sustainable farming by offering seasonal workshops and tours. We also host music festivals in the summer! Weddings, campouts and family gatherings are also possible! And we encourage camping and hiking on our land. See our listings on HipCamp and AirBNB.

Shiitake mushrooms are available fresh in season or made into soups and spreads when the mushrooms are dormant. Our shiitake are log grown and outdoor cultivated in our hemlock grove. We have over 2000 logs in production. Some of our shiitake strains fruit with cold weather and some respond to soaking. It's quite the science project and our harvest season extends from May through November.

Our organic meat birds are pastured in chicken tractors that move twice a day to provide the chickens with bugs and fresh grass along with certified organic grains.

Our cows are rotationally grazed and get moved to fresh pasture every day, when on pasture and fed quality baleage through the winter. Our breed are Red Devon crosses, which are the great "grass to meat converters" and excellent for grass-fed production.

Our pork is raised by a neighboring Amish farm, that feeds grains which are free of GMO's, plus the pigs spend time on pasture during the summer months. This is a nice neighborly collaboration!
