The Blue Spoon Farm raises registered Boer goats and Icelandic mixed breed sheep. The goats often sell live to other breeders. Most of the kids have been sold already. If you are interested in purchasing a goat, a lamb, or starting your own flock/ herd please contact us at bluespoonfarm@gmail.com. Mentoring without a direct sale is $100 an hour. Goats are sold at $6 per pound live weight (meat price), $40 extra for disbudded kids, and $30 for registration application papers. Kids are sold at weaning at the age of 3 or 4 months. Most of the kids will weigh between 40 and 60 pounds at that time.

It's January 21, 2026 and there is just 1 new lamb so far this season but many more on the way. We still have yearling lambs for sale on Craigslist, Ithaca and you can purchase cuts of meat at GreenStar food Co+op in Ithaca, NY. If you are interested in purchasing a lamb for a special holiday contact us well in advance. Lambs are sold at $5.00 per pound live weight (meat price), all are very friendly. They are usually sold at weaning at the age of 3 or 4 months. Most will weigh about 60 pounds at that time. Older animals are sold between $300 and $1,000 each.

Tell us what to plant in the spring. If you contact us we may be able to accommodate your specialty produce desires. We are not currently selling CSA shares as we moved and are still building infrastructure. A work share would be considered. Contact us and share a list of your skills.

We often have frozen lamb and goat butchered locally by a USDA facility. Order early if you want to purchase a half or a whole. You can save on processing costs if you make arrangements to pick up your meat at a local custom slaughter house. We can deliver to a Halal slaughter facility in Binghamton for an added mileage fee. We hope to offer Halal slaughter but are finding insurance is a barrier.

Buy a big bag of fresh basil leaves at $20 a pound, pick it yourself and it's half price. Green beans are often plentiful  but we needed help processing them. Contact us if you would like us to consider you for a work share on a short term basis. Perhaps you only want to help us make pesto and bring some home. I'm sure we can work something out.

When we reinstate our CSA shares we will include will be asking $1,000 for a share. This includes goat kid, lamb, local eggs, and veggies and herbs while they are in season.

A farm cannot be sustainable without customers. If you are interested in getting to know your local farmer please do reach out to us. We want to feed you and your family good, sustainably raised, food.

The Blue Spoon Farm is a small family farm in central New York. We are working to build a diverse and sustainable farm using permaculture principles and holistic management practices. Established in 2009, in Groton NY, the Blue Spoon Farm is young. Each year we try out new ideas and document what works and what does not.

At the Blue Spoon Farm we do not use chemical pesticides or fungicides on our vegetables or in our animal feeds. We buy our feeds locally from local farmers. All of our animals are treated humanely and are all allowed access to pasture when it is available and green. We practice rotational grazing with our goats and sheep in an effort to provide the animals with the cleanest pasture.

Delivery is available to the Downtown Ithaca area - in small quantities - for no extra cost - by appointment only.

I can ship meat. If you are a customer who wishes to have items shipped please check prices with your local FedEx carrier as I will ask you to pay for the delivery directly to FedEx by phone before shipping. This will an extra fee on top of the price for the item.

Please contact the farm (607) 898-9050 to make arrangements before ordering.
