Visitors to the scenic overlook at John Boyd Thatcher State Park can spot far below them our historic Dutch barn (circa 1730). A portion of that original Fryer Farm has n now been revived as Black Creek Farm, a small CSA offering vegetables and fruits growing exclusively for our members. We also produce maple syrup from our own maple groves. Black Creek Farm is located between the Villages of Voorheesville and Altamont. We use only fertilizers and pesticides approved for organic use and our "Farmers Pledge" to use sustainable practices has been recognized by the Northeast Organic Farming Association of NY. Our season runs from June into October. Our members pick up their shares at the farm, usually on Wednesday afternoons. For 2014, our full shares are $450. We offer a personal/medium share at $300. All members are welcome to volunteer to work on the farm for 6 hours or more during the season and receive a $25 rebate at the end. Our share application is available on our website: www.theblackcreekfarm.com
