Cedar Farms is proud to offer our 2016 Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) program. A CSA program is a partnership between farm and consumers. The members of a CSA or "shareholders" pay a fee at the beginning of our growing season to help meet operating expenses for the growing season. In return our shareholders receive a portion of our production each week throughout the growing season. It is a mutually beneficial arrangement in which the farmer knows how much to grow and consumers know where their food is coming from and that it is fresh and grown locally! At Cedar Farms Produce is our specialty. Unlike most growers we have invested in state of the art greenhouses to grow year round. What does this mean to you? We can offer a steady supply of pesticide and herbicide free produce and an increased variety with less risk than other CSA programs. We use a combination of high tunnels, heated greenhouses, raised beds, and open field production to bring you the highest quality most nutritious foods available. Please help support us in our inaugural year by joining our Community Supported Agriculture program for only $600. This will include 20 weeks of the freshest greens, tomatoes, peppers, sweet corn, berries and other produce you've ever tasted. We will be extending our growing season in our new state of the art greenhouse to offer one of Ohio's only year round CSA's as well. Please check back for new updates. This year CSA pickups at the farm will begin approximately June 1st and will continue for approximately 20 weeks. A CSA subscription depending on the time of year will have between 4-15+ lbs of fresh pesticide and herbicide free produce. We use heirloom, organic and non gmo seeds and plants when available. We are not certified organic but follow organic practices amending the soil with all natural compost. $600 -Full share of produce enough for a family of 4 or 2 people who love fresh produce, 20 weeks only $30/week $350 - 1/2 share of produce, enough for two people or one produce lover. Only $15/week for 20 weeks. Fresh Pastured Chickens! The Chicken CSA costs $300 for 20 weeks of chickens. On average chickens weigh 4+ lbs. For only $15 a week your family can have an entire wholesome pastured chicken a week. You can split it with a friend. You can alternate weeks picking up or cut it up yourselves. We can also freeze birds and you can pick up at your convenience. 1/2 shares available. We have a limited number of half-shares available if you cannot do a whole chicken every week. You pick up your chickens every other week for a total of 10 chickens over the 20 week season. Some members have chosen to buy two shares in the past. They would eat one a week and save the other for winter. Some people have big families and go through a lot of chicken. Combine it with our Egg CSA for chicken and eggs all summer.
