Sterling Organic Farm has fresh vegetables, beautiful flowers and happy pollinators. Because our farm sprays no pesticides and herbicides, and because we grow a large variety of flowers, our farm is a haven for pollinators including native bees, honey bees, butterflies, moths and birds. Growing on just over one acre, Zoe Madden owns and operates this small farm, with help from one part time employee, and friends and family who volunteer. We also have interns come and live and farm with us. The land has been a certified organic farm since 1989, making it the oldest organic farm in Eastern Connecticut, and the second oldest organic farm in the state. Zoe Madden started Sterling Organic Farm in 2019. Formerly the farm was formerly known as Wayne's Organic Garden.
Wholesale Customers
Our farm is on the border of Connecticut and Rhode Island. USDA certified organic by Baystate Organic Certifiers, we sell organic vegetables year-round to restaurants and small grocery stores, with salad greens, radishes and carrots coming out of our two unheated greenhouses. We sell flower bouquets to grocery stores from May through the end of October.
Community Supported Agriculture (CSA)
2022 CSA shares now available on our website! We have a flower CSA for a weekly flower bouquet, and a vegetable subscription for a weekly box of seasonal vegetables. The 2022 CSA runs from mid-July through the end of October. Pickup takes place on the farm in Sterling. Learn more by visiting our website.
