Wild Wood started as a simple plan to feed my family and community with good, healthy food. Inspired by the tenets of permaculture, we strive to work with nature rather than against it. We use solar and wind power to minimize our ecological impact, while rain-water catchment and an intelligently managed well system supply all of our water needs. Our food is grown organically, with no herbicides, pesticides, or synthetic chemicals of any kind. We put an emphasis on biological diversity to enhance the stability of the farm. We even have a young "food forest" with nearly 100 species of trees, shrubs, vines, and ground covers that provide food, building material, and medicines for us, food and nesting for wildlife, AND an awesome place to hang out! I'm learning to live in harmony with nature, and if there's anyway that I can help you do the same, let me know :)

Upcoming Events

Diversity is king here at Wild Wood.

Just a sample of the plants that are thriving here;

Vegetables like Romanesco Broccoli and Jerusalem Artichoke

Fruits - Currants, grapes, pawpaw, and persimmons

Nuts - walnut, pecan, chestnut, and hazelnuts

Everything we do has the tenets of permaculture within it, namely care for earth and care for the people. We do what we do because we want the world to be a better place for future generations, and we know that it's up to us to make that happen.
