The Key Peninsula Farmers Market no longer exists.
In 2010, Dale Schultz ran a farmers market in the former KPFM location in Key Center called, Gig Harbor Farmers Market at Key Peninsula. Based on an agreement with the KP Community Council, Schultz has the right to run a farmers market in that location for three years. Schultz opted not to run a market in Key Center in 2011.
Former KP farmers market customers have a variety of options for purchasing local food. Gig Harbor continues to run two farmers markets - seasonally on Wednesdays and Saturdays. Also, there is a seasonal Friday farmers market in Olalla and a Saturday market in old town Port Orchard, along the water.
Additionally, the former KPFM manager, Holly Hendrick, has started a year-round, local food co-op, Fresh Food Revolution; the FFR co-op is a non-profit, membership organization serving the farmers, ranchers, food producers and consumers in the KP/GH area.
