Bear Island Farm

We are currently selling our naturally grown seasonal produce at the Farmers Market of Bluffton, which is open from 2pm to 7pm on Thursdays. Bear Island Farm is a special spot in South Carolina's Lowcountry where vegetables, herbs, flowers and fruits grow the old-fashioned way: with lots of attention and lots of love. We grow without the use of synthetic chemicals, using time-honored techniques such as mulching, composting and cover cropping. We take inspiration from the principles of permaculture, companion planting, organic farming and ecological living. Our focus is on high quality and unique heirloom varieties that appeal to the eye and pique the palate. Founded in January 2011, Bear Island Farm is located on a coastal island between Colleton River Plantation and Pinckney Island National Wildlife Refuge in Bluffton, South Carolina. We are currently growing on about two acres.
