Purdue Student Farm

The Student Farm is a working small farm on the western edge of the Purdue University campus. We grow beautiful vegetables, herbs, and cut flowers using the principles that naturally govern balanced eco systems, including emphasis on diversity, healthy soil, healthy plants, and healthy people. Our educational work is all about food: how to grow it on a small, ecological scale, the art of marketing produce for profit, how to eat vegetables in delicious, nourishing ways, understanding how food intersects with environment and economy and community. Day to day during the school year, farm work is managed by several student groups: those enrolled in the "Small Farms Experience" courses, volunteers involved in the Purdue Student Farm Organization, part-time undergraduate staff, and full time summer interns. A farm manager and faculty advisor also provide facilitation and over sight. As a business, our harvest is sold three different ways: Through our new Farm Share program At the Purdue Farmers' Market & West Lafayette Farmers' Market Commercially to university dining halls and caterers, as well as to several small local grocers If you are interested in joining our work or purchasing our food, please explore this site or feel free to contact us for more information.
