New City Farm
New City Urban Farm is in the city of Grand Rapids. We grow on over 5 acres of land at 3 locations. Our one acre location called the Farmhouse at 1115 Leonard St NE, GR 49503, is our pick up location. We partner with Grand Valley University sustainability department to grow on 1.5 acres of land at their Allendale campus, including a 30X168 ft. high tunnel, and at Plainsong Farms where we grow on 2 acres including catepillar tunnels for extended growing.

All of our food is grown in compost enriched soil 100% naturally (no synthetic pesticides, fertilizers or GMOs).

New City Farm is a social enterprise of the non-profit New City Neighbors. We exist to employ neighborhood high school youth. We hire 20 student employees a season and teach them valuable life and job skills through work (the best way to learn!) and through a weekly interactive job/social skills curriculum.

We sell our produce April-December through a variety of CSA share options (explore our website to find out more). CSA shares are the most affordable and fun way to purchase high quality local produce. We aim to provide our customers with a 25% discount on their produce compared to farmer's market prices. We offer farmshare add on's each season with our cafe's Soup Share, and with local business partners to receive bread and self-drop off compost service. At pick up, we run a weekly pop-up cafe from May-November during our Thursday pickup. The cafe includes wood fired pizza, soups, salads and baked goods. We accept EBT for our CSA shares. With Double up Food Bucks EBT customers get 50% off their share!

New City Farm has a big vision for an urban agricultural food economy that keeps all of its food dollars within the city of GR. That means we grow our food in the city in the Creston neighborhood. In addition to our staff we then hire 25 GR high school youth providing them with a job along with life skills training. We then sell our top quality produce back to the neighborhood through CSA shares and an on site pop up cafe with wood fired pizza and baked goods.

Shareholders can pull through the farmhouse drive to pick up their share, or park on Herrick Ave NE along the street. Share pick up will be behind the main farmhouse building off Herrick.
