Nestled in the rolling hills of Western Ky our family owned certified organic farm (USDA) offers CSA members, Farmers Market users, local restaurants and fine dining restraunts organic produce starting in May and continuing through the Fall. 5 acres of produce beginning in spring with lettuce, spinach and asparagus followed by tomatoes, squash, eggplant, okra, cucumbers, winter squash and pumpkins.. 90% ouf our products are heirloom varieties. Fresh picked blackberries managed on David West Farm available seasonally and also USDA Cert. Organic. Cover crops, large-scale composting and beneficial interplanting and insects provide organic protection throughout the growing season. Shiitake mushroom cultivation and wild simulated ginseng. Bee hives offer customers local honey throughout the season and necessary pollination. All-natural pasture-raised beef, pork and chicken is available year-round. Mule drawn equipment replaces the tractor when applicable during the growing season for cultivation. Sweet Sorhum Molasses harvested and furnace cooked in October on the farm. Five acres of Certified Organic Burley Tobacco is harvested in August and Marketed to Santa Fe Natural Tobacco Company. Fresh herbs and garlic is available as well as Pumpkins and heirloom winter squash for eating and decorating. Accepting applications for CSA shares and Internships for Summer/ Fall 2011.
