Wings of Dawn Farm is a small family owned and operated farm in southwest Alamance County. We are committed to being a source for healthy local food. Our fields, pastures and animals are free of chemicals. We use chickens, pigs and goats to control insects and weeds.
Our heritage breed chickens eat a locally milled organic feed as well as their choice of bugs, grasses and other forage. The eggs from these pastured hens are exceptional in color and flavor. The goats, pigs and chickens are rotated through the pastures to control parasites, to distribute their manure, and to provide access to fresh forage.
We source our seeds from small companies who share our commitment to preserving heirloom seeds so we can grow vegetables that are nutritious as well as flavorful. By doing so, we also seek to preserve some of the diversity of food that is America's heritage. No GMO seeds are used on the farm and no GMO products are fed to the chickens and livestock.
We offer our products and those of other local farms sharing our growing practices through the Good Food Buying Club (April to October), an online "farm store" with local delivery locations and on farm pickup. We also sell from the farm and donate eggs and excess produce (seasonally) to local food charities.
