My Turkey Hollow Twilight Zone LLC (MTHTZ) is a Market Garden SPIN Farm, growing hazard free produce on less than 6000 square feet. "SPIN" is an acronym for "Small Plot INtensive". This means the beds I grow on are intensively planted, turned over, and rotated on a strict schedule to keep the soil healthy to produce the most nutrient rich vegetables possible.
You can find MTHTZ produce at the Saturday Freight House Farmers Market between the months of May and October.
I also have a small CSA (community supported agriculture) membership opportunity which I call the "Nosh Box" program. These are Tuesday deliveries, in the QC area, which runs during the months of June, July, and August.
Additionally, a few local restaurants utilize my produce in their menus during the summer months.
The produce I grow, while not currently certified organic, is grown using OMRI approved practices to allow for a future certification opportunity. I am located just outside the Quad Cities.
Growing up on a small farm, I've been growing food since I was old enough to hold a hoe in my hand. There's nothing better than a fresh homegrown vegetable.
Fresh vegetables and herbs is just one of the goals I plan to achieve as this business grows! As a Registered Nurse, I have 30 plus years experience in educating people on healthy life choices. I look forward to incorporating 3 decades of healthcare experience to help others use food as an ally rather than the enemy!
You can check out my website for a list of what I am growing in the current season! Please feel free to contact me with questions!
