Veg Out

Veg Out is first and foremost about providing local, fresh produce. It is about knowing where your food comes from, having a connection to me, the grower, knowing you can trust me, and that I will proudly stand by the delicious treats I sell! Secondly, Veg Out is about having fun with your food, and growing as many unique vegetables as possible!! Every week Veg Out has a new recipe for one of our delightful veggies, such as beet chocolate cake, pumpkin cinnamon rolls, black bean taquitos, and so many more. Veg Out picks every recipe to inspire our customers find new ways of enjoying what we have in season and make the most of their CSA boxes and market goods. One of the goals of Veg Out is to grow a wide array of every kind of vegetable possible! From the usual, green beans, snap peas, orange carrots, etc... to the wonderfully exciting dragons tongue beans, purple peas, yellow and red carrots, white watermelons, and so much more!! I love searching for new and exciting vegetables to bring to market. Friends of Veg Out love trying the new flavors, and so many come back for more. 2 0 1 8 Summer C S A ~ Weekly and Bi-weekly Full Shares...Everytime Our weekly and bi-weekly Farm share will provide you with delicious, in-season, CHEMICAL FREE produce along with a variety of other items, such as eggs, herbs, mushrooms, fruits, and other local goods, which will vary throughout the season. Your farm share can be picked-up or delivered weekly or bi-weekly contains enough items to feed a family of 4-5 or to share with a neighbor or friend. In the early season, your share will consist of 6 to 8 items while we wait for more to variety to become available. As the season progresses, your share will grow to 10 to 12 items! Weekly - $500 for 20 weeks (If paid in full by March 31st, $550 after March 31st). Bi-weekly - $275 for 10 weeks (If paid in full by March 31st, $300 after March 31st) You get to choose: Pick-Up: At the farm ( 239) Powell's Valley Rd, Halifax, Pa) on Monday evening from 5-8 pm. Delivery: Is an additional charge of $50 for the year for our driver and vehicle wear and tear. Deliveries are expected to be made on Tuesday. If you won't be home, feel free to leave a cooler with ice on a shady porch. Available for the following areas: Halifax, Millersburg Elizabethville Carsonville Feel free to ask if your included in the areas! Pick-up starts the first week of May 2018 and runs through the second week of October 2018.​ This will vary for the bi-weekly shares depending on if you choose to start on the first or second week. ​What to expect: You can expect to see a variety of lettuces, beets, peas, onions, herbs, etc.. in May. In June, beans will come in, as well as, potatoes, broccoli, cauliflower, cabbage, and more! July will bring tomatoes and peppers followed by watermelons, corn, and cantaloupe in August. In the fall months you will see more fall lettuces, radishes, and brassicas, along with a wide variety of fall squash, pumpkins, and dried beans that you can enjoy throughout the winter. Special surprises will also be included! As our chicken population increases, we may include fresh eggs! Other special treats you may receive are fresh berries, herbs, recipes, flowers, mushrooms, or even large pumpkins to decorate! ​ As with any farm, we are subject to the weather, animals, and other elements of nature we cannot control. So we apologize in advance if the groundhogs eat all my broccoili in the spring, we'll try again in the fall :) We appreciate your investment in our future as we are investing in yours!
