The Local Patch

This is our 8th year running our own farming business. Our market garden occupies two fields on Wapping Road where we share the land with the esteemed cows of Aquidneck Farms. We live just down the road. Our passion for farming comes from our love of cooking with fresh ingredients, and knowing we're feeding our family the healthiest things. We love sharing recipes with our community.

The Local Patch is a market garden focused on growing the highest quality produce using sustainable practices. Healthy, strong, productive plants come from management practices that place an emphasis on soil health. We feed the soil a balance of organic nutrients and compost and in turn, the the soil feeds the crops.

We have a growing CSA, a model we feel passionate about. We love connecting our community to their food and being able to share an appreciation for seasonal cooking and eating. This year we are offering a debit card system at the market. CSA members bring their prepaid cards to the market and use it at their own pace throughout the season. There is even a spending bonus for signing up!
