Green Door Farms is now entering its 4th season. Matt Gal and Summer Sherrod founded Green Door Farms in 2016 after Matt earned his Bachelors of Science in Horticulture. What began as a 1/3 of an acre backyard microfarm in South St. Louis has now expanded into a 4 acre collaborative effort with the goal of producing the most nutrient dense organic vegetables in the area. We strive to produce a diverse and interesting range of high quality produce by working in harmony with the ecology of the land. We never use synthetic fertilizers or destructive pesticides that could jeopardize the health of our soil and our customers. We instead rely on creative solutions based on optimizing plant health through the soil, permaculture practices, encouraging natural predation, and modern farming innovations such as insect netting. We take a holistic, ecological approach to the farm, always trying to view our decisions through the lens of the system as a whole.
When we are not in the field, we love sharing our passion face-to-face with our customers at markets. This season you can find us at the following markets:

- Boulevard Farmer's Market, Sundays May - Oct, 9am-1pm @ The Boulevard Center in Richmond Heights
CSA members choose from one of the three market locations for their pick-ups.
Feel free to ask us about produce availability and pricing. We are growing a nearly full diet for our CSA this year and are well set up to grow lots of salad greens, but we're capable of anything and happy to consider customer requests. The farm we have partnered with also produces pastured pork.
