Holden Farm is a small scale family farm located in Louisville, Kentucky on Floyd's Fork.
We specialize in native perennials, garlic, and seasonal produce.
Our produce is thoughtfully grown on 5 acres. Continually striving to improve the health of our soil while producing beautiful and nutritious crops, our farming practices incorporate crop rotation, cover cropping, and crop diversity. We do not utilize synthetic chemical fertilizers, pesticides, or insecticides in our approach. Our fruits, vegetables, garlic, herbs, and cut flowers can be found at the Douglass Loop Farmers Market on Saturdays 10-2, March though November, and at several local establishments including Gralehaus and Holy Grale, Harvest, Mayan Cafe, Seviche, and Wiltshire on Market. We also run a small CSA.
Farmer Fred has been growing garlic at the Holden Farm for over 20 years. During that time, he's collected unique and delicious garlic from all over the world. This season we are growing over 30 varieties of heirloom and rare garlic. Some of our old favorites include: Tzan, Korean, Vietnamese, Turkish, Belarus, Metechi, and German Porcelain. New varieties we're looking forward to in 2016 include: Montana Zemo, Incellium Red, Chesnook, and Farmer Fred's special "Holden Four-Clove."
