Indian Ladder Farms is an apple orchard with a farm market, cafe, bakery and gift shop nestled under the Helderberg Escarpment. Our orchards are an easy drive from most of the Capital District. We grow apples, pumpkins, winter squash, fall ornamental gourds, strawberries, blueberries, raspberries (red and black), and tomatoes of the beefsteak, plum, and heirloom varieties. Indian Ladder operates its own cider press, using our apples to make delicious fresh cider (a key ingredient in our famous cider donuts). We offer Pick-Your-Own apples, strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, heirloom tomatoes, and pumpkins. The farm market sells locally produced milk, cheeses, eggs, fresh fruit, and produce along with a wide variety of locally produced maple products, honey, preserves, dressings, salsas, chutneys, breads, and pies. Our gift shop is kid friendly and features inexpensive and fun toys, books, locally made candles, soaps, greeting cards, scarves, jewelry, and interesting items from around the world. The farm features a variety of livestock, including a Scottish Highlander cow, a cashmere goat, angora goats, a Vietnamese pot-bellied pig and a donkey named Eeyore! Our goats are very friendly and will eat out of the palm of your hand. The Barn School at Indian Ladder Farms offers educational farm and apple tours of the farm and summer camp programs for children about farm animals and farm life. We also offer hay rides, birthday parties, and the farm is also available for weddings, gatherings, and celebrations.
