This small acre farm is owned and operated by Joe Jennings a 78 year plus farming dynamo! At J-14 you can purchase a year round subscription complete with your very own key to the gate. In season you can harvest a variety of hard to find greens, broccoli, tomatoes, watermelons, cantalopes, sweet potatoes, english peas, purple hull peas, onions, cabbage, cauliflower, peaches and strawberries to name a few.

We encourage you to bring your family, come and escape the hustle and bustle of the city. We are located just a few miles from the Kansas river and overlook the last remaining vestiges of the Underground Railroad (a network of farms and homes used to help African American slaves escapte to freedom) and the ruins of Western University (the first historically black agricultural college for former freed slaves west of the Mississippi). Farm tours are encouraged and welcomed, come view historical farm practices and resourceful living still in existence!

In 2004 J-14 Agricultural Enterprises made space available to Camp C.A.R.V.E.R.(City Agricultural Resourceful Visionaries Entering Real-life). This partnership has created opportunities for inner-city youth to learn the virtues of Animal Husbandry and farming. Camp CARVER now produces pasture raised chickens & farm fresh eggs. There is a full scale rabbitry, farm-raised catfish and in 2007 quail and honey bee production.
