We are now accepting signups for the 2017 CSA. Our shares are a half bushel box of produce per week. Revita Gardens Farm is a small sustainable family farm, primarily a vegetable farm. All produce is grown using ORGANIC methods with no chemical fertilizers or pesticides used. It is grown by Andy Hershberger along with his wife Lizzie and their 6 children. Prior to moving onto their farm here in Missouri in January of 2015 the Hershbergers operated an organic CSA in Ohio for 7 years. Since their move here they have been busy building up the soil on their new farm using compost and cover crops. They feel they are now ready to offer CSA shares for the 2017 season. They are dedicated to good soil health and strongly believe healthy soils are essential for the well-being of the people of our local communities as well as the farm�s economic status. In short, healthy soils produce healthy food to be eaten by healthy people. The farm has several large tunnel houses (one is heated the other is a cold frame) which aide in extending the season on both ends. So, instead of having to wait till July for those tomatoes to ripen, you may be eating your first tomato in mid or late May. At the other end of the season, you may be enjoying fresh lettuce out of the garden even in late November. Besides produce, the farm also offers eggs from free range chickens and will be offering meats (chicken, beef, and pork) as well. All animals have access to grass and pasture all the time. Chicken and hogs are supplemented with organic grain. During the growing season, beef is fed grass only, then, they are fed hay in the off season. We are wanting to add more pickup locations in the Springfield and Kansas City areas. If you are intersted in being a pickup location please contact us.
