We are a kin-owned and operated farm 4 miles east of central Austin. We currently use approximately 5 acres on our 20 acre tract. Our focus is on sustainable, natural and organic methods to grow fruits and vegetables as well as poultry (primarily for eggs.) On our land, we emphasize sensitivity to humane practices in animal welfare. Due to concern over preservation of biodiversity, we have integrated heritage and heirloom varieties in our produce and poultry farming with the hope of becoming exclusively heritage and heirloom in the near future. Though production for now is for our local extended family, we have three major goals in mind: 1) to become certified naturally grown, 2) to produce quantities large enough to sell at local farmer's market, and 3) to begin a CSA within the next two years with expansion of use of the land. In addition to all this, we truly embrace all our land has to offer us for foraging of native wild plants, as well as access to wild fish and game. With the added advantage of owning and operating a ranch in Kempner, TX, we are able to enjoy raising our own grass-fed cattle, harvest wild game, and enjoy fruits, nuts, and berries from the wild. We are hunters and gatherers and farmers, and look forward to sharing the results of our labors with our community as a source of local foods.
