Bluebird Trail Farm is a friendly, educational farm that uses organic and sustainable practices to grow a wide variety of fresh vegetables and fruit. The twenty acre farm hosts a "Bluebird Trail" of 35 bluebird boxes that are home to numerous pairs of Bluebirds and tree swallows. The hike includes stopping by two ponds to feed the ducks, observation boxes to observe nesting pairs, tree and wildflower identification and a spectacular view of upstate NY and Southern PA Countryside. Our farm includes diverse vegetable gardens, apple ,plum and cherry trees, raspberry bushes, strawberries, blackberries and elderberries. We use a variety of planting techniques and each year we try new ideas and add new produce. Our 1900's barn is fun to roam and explore, build a birdhouse to take home, or make a nature craft. We include our shareholders in farm activities and encourage you to pick your own shares and visit the farm. Each week our farm naturalist, Monika, offers nature activities in the garden during share pick up days. Children can learn how their food grows and how we can become good stewards of the earth.
