Red Tree Farmstead

Red Tree Farmstead is our dream farm. We grow 2 acres of annual vegetables, using several season-extension techniques, aiming to produce year-round. The vegetables go to our farmers' markets and also to a southern Maryland-focused CSA program. We also grow gorgeous cut flowers that we sell at our farmers' markets, and we also arrange flowers for events. There is a large flock of pastured free-range chickens for eggs, that we rotate regularly to fertilize and "mow", and we are working on establishing a working bee colony. In 2017, we are installing many perennial plantings for cut flowers, fruit production, and to reestablish some native plants. At the middle of all of this is the beautiful red maple which is the namesake of the property.
