Since our first full year of production in 1999, our goal has been to continually upgrade the quality and quantity of the animals and produce. While chicken eggs have been the main focus in recent years, duck eggs, as well as general farm produce, have been rapidly gaining favor. In any given summer there are about 200 meat and egg chickens, 28 ducks, 25 (more or less) rabbits, 10 heritage breed turkeys, 10 Polish chickens, 4 lambs and new this year, 2 pigs along with a partridge in a pear tree roaming the farm.
General garden produce is available in season. You pick red raspberries late summer and fall. While currently not an organic certified farm, we follow all organic methods of production for our plants and animals.
Don't miss the fire memorabilia museum in the bottom level of the house. Michigan's largest fire museum north of Bay City.
Family tours are strongly recommended and encouraged. Don't forget to bring your camera! While very family oriented, you should know that unattended children will be given a cup of espresso and a free bunny.
Va Via Farm is now inspected and licensed by the Michigan Department of Agriculture. One more step in bringing you the consumer, high quality eggs, farm produce, chickens, ducks, turkeys and lambs.
