The Millet Seed

The Millet Seed is an urban farm located in Iowa City's Longfellow neighborhood. We grow on several small plots in the neighborhood using no chemicals and no machines. Our farming practices focus on building healthy soils and growing nutritious food with the least amount of fossil fuels possible. We offer 20 CSA shares for 24 weeks (May-Oct). The majority of our members live in the neighborhood for a truly local experience. Pickups occur weekly at our home in a farmer's market style. The CSA is an extension of our personal homesteading efforts so we grow a very diverse mix of fruits and vegetables. We focus a lot on salad greens, familiar root crops, and herbs.
