Mountair Park Community Farm, by Sprout City Farms

Welcome! Sprout City Farms is an urban agriculture nonprofit in Denver, CO with the mission of cultivating educational urban farms that engage and strengthen communities. SCF envisions a thriving local food system supported by a network of city farms that nourish, and are nourished by, their surrounding community. SCF manages the Mountair Park Community Farm, a one-acre organic vegetable farm established in the spring of 2014 on the grounds of Mountair Park in partnership with the City of Lakewood. MAP Community Farm provides a weekly farm stand in the park, and produce donations to local community food relief programs such as the food pantry at Mountair Christian Church. The farm also offers educational programs like workshops and volunteer days, and hosts field trips, tours, and other community events throughout the season. SCF continues to work with the Two Creeks Neighborhood to develop food distribution and community programs as the community sees fit.

SCF also manages the Denver Green School Community Farm, a one-acre organic vegetable farm established in the spring of 2011 on the grounds of the Denver Green School in SE Denver. The farm provides fresh produce to the school cafeteria through a first-of-its-kind Farm to Cafeteria program, as well as to the community through a CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) share program, weekly farm stand, and produce donations to the school backpack program and local food pantries. SCF also hosts numerous community events and volunteer days throughout the year in addition to offering educational programs to the school and community.
