Understory Farm and Orchard, now entering the 5th year of growth, is a 20 acre USDA Certified Organic fruit and vegetable farm. The farm is situated in the understory of a mature apple and cherry orchard in Southwest Michigan's fruit-belt. Our focus is on healthy land and healthy people. We fertilize with compost, never resort to chemical pesticides, always start with organic seed, strive to conserve resources, and we have a lot of fun! Produce from the farm includes heirloom vegetables, flowers, herbs, blueberries, apples, Montmorency cherries, and gourmet mushrooms. Our farm also features a state-certified cider mill and in the fall we press our own raw apple cider and apple/pear blend. We love to eat what we grow and select varieties based on flavor and quality. Good produce starts at the ground level - the understory - and we work on that so you can work on your health.
