We are a small family farm dedicated to producing delicious, naturally-grown vegetables and greens.
Our specialty is tomatoes, especially heirloom tomatoes, such as Cherokee Purple, Brandywine and Hillbilly. We also grow salad greens, cabbage, beets, garlic, potatoes, peppers, bush beans, cucumbers, zucchini, squash, kale, and fresh herbs.
We grew our own food for years before we got around to becoming farmers; one reason we went "back to the land" was that we discovered that was almost the only way we could inexpensively eat the kind of food we enjoy. As food-lovers, we found that you can't cook gourmet food with anything other than the finest high-quality produce. Luckily, great produce doesn't have to be expensive or difficult to get: it can be found right in your own backyard! Or, if you haven't space in your backyard, or time to grow, it can be found at your local farmers' market.
We believe everyone can and should have access to the most delicious and wholesome vegetables - it shouldn't just be a specialty market for the few who can afford it. We also believe the health of our bodies, and of the world we live in, depends on having sustainable food-growing and eating practices. So we try, as much as possible, to make the fruits of our labor available at costs that are competitive with what you might find in your average grocery store - something that is only possible if we are selling directly to our customers, and not to wholesalers or distributors who would raise the price for retail sales. That's why farmers' markets and CSAs are crucial to your health and the health of our earth!
You can find us at the Farmers' Gateway Market in Steubenville on Wednesday evenings, and the new Hopedale Farmers' Market on Saturday mornings. We have a CSA listing of customers who can take orders and have access to special offers. Email us if you'd like to be added to the list!
