Hickory Lane Farm

Hickory Lane Farm is a 575 acre farm located in Kent County, Maryland. Our farm has been a family run business since 1920. Currently, the farm is run by Robert and Faye Everett, and their son, Christopher. We grow what we grow because we are passionate about it. We love testing new products and varieties and are always eager to share our finds with you. We currently run a CSA and grow specialty produce for restaurants. We specialize in heirloom and gourmet vegetable production. We have been growing fruits, vegetables, flowers and herbs for sale for over 25 years. We start a majority of our plants in our greenhouses on the farm. All plants are sent to market for sale or planted on 8 acres. Throughout the season, all of our produce is picked, sorted, and packaged by hand. We do not use pesticides on any of our products. Our plants are protected by beneficial bugs and animals, row covers, top quality plants and organic sprays. We are also gradually phasing out our use of synthetic fertilizers. We plan to eliminate them by Fall of 2009. We use cover crops for erosion control and soil amendment. Crop rotation is utilized to encourage diversity and to help discourage disease. We also reuse trays, pots, plant packs to reduce the amount of plastic thrown away.
